The CompactFlash Scan Card (CFSC) 5E is a Series 5 Entry Level barcode reader that adds affordable barcode scanning to your Pocket PC device. The CFSC 5E scans all popular linear barcode symbologies including UPC/EAN, Code 39, Code 128, Interleaved 2 of 5, MSI/Plessey, and Codabar. You can enable other symbologies with SocketScan Symbology selector. The integrated Type II CF card and barcode reader plugs into the Type II CompactFlash slot of Windows Powered Pocket PCs. You can combine this with a CF-to-PC card adapter (Part #4001-515, sold separately) to use in pen tablets or laptops. SocketScan SDK for both Windows CE is also available. Socket’s SocketScan software for Windows converts scanned barcode characters into virtual keystrokes so that any Windows application treats the characters as though they were typed on a keyboard.
The CFSC 5E gets its power from the hand-held host mobile device and uses approximately 57mA of power during scanning to maximize battery life. The LED light source poses no health or safety hazards.
